WHO PAYS UTILITY EXPENSES IN A SUMMER RENTAL or SEASONAL RENTAL? Summer rentals have no utility costs associated with them other than long distance telephone calls. If your policy differs please be sure to note so on your Property Posting and in your leases as well. We have experienced Renters wanting to upgrade cable service and are generally willing to pay the Owner for the nominal difference. Utility costs are the responsibility of the Year Round or Long Term Renter. Make appropriate arrangements with your tenant to avoid any disruption in service. Water use charges are to be paid by the Owner of the property, regardless of rental term.
